Bob Marley’s 65th Birthday Party

February 6th 2010 marks the 65th anniversary of the birth of the
legendary Bob Marley.

Bob Marley is largely responsible for taking the music of Jamaica to
the world and enriching all our lives in the process. Named the third
worlds first superstar, his huge catalogue of music created in his
short life changed the world of music forever. His legacy lives on in
the many projects he undertook when he was alive, Tuff Gong still
operates as a recording studio, pressing plant and record label in
Jamaica, his albums still sell in large numbers, including being named
as album of the 20th century, and his messages of unity, strength and
human rights still resound today, not only through his own music but
in that of his children, who have continued his musical works.

To celebrate the birthday of the King of Reggae Music, The Empressions
are putting on a reggae party outdoors at The Railway Hotel 44
Tydeman Road North Fremantle, on Sunday 7th February 5pm – 10pm.
Featuring The Empressions (Australias first ladies of dancehall),
General Justice (Australias original champion selecta), Ricky Trooper
(Zim) Ras Mwas (Kenya), and DJ Zayhon. Expect lots of Marley tunes,
classic and nu skool roots reggae along with up to di time dancehall
strait from Jamaica. Entry is $10 with part proceeds being donated to
Oxfams Haiti Earthquake relief appeal.
